THE WEST AFRICAN POWER INDUSTRY CONVENTION
THE WEST AFRICAN POWER INDUSTRY CONVENTION aims to bring West Africa’s power policy-makers, utilities, regulators, investors and suppliers under one roof to define a way forward to ensure constant supply of energy utilizing the mix of energy sources rich in the region.
WAPIC 2011 will help identify solutions to the issues affecting the reliability of electricity cost and supply in West Africa in order to increase electrification rates through enabling partnerships in power development, project finance, and infrastructure rehabilitation. Through the assessment of the current regulatory environment, WAPIC 2011 will identify the right balance of national vs. regional power priorities in order to ensure the effective restructuring and sustainable development of West Africa’s energy ecosystem. WAPIC assists leading stakeholders and professionals to define a roadmap for the future guarantee of energy interdependence and the individual security of supply of each interconnected nation.
